Reiterating the social and community responsibility standards, ABM, a leading company in the “Palm Leaves-Wood Pellets-Biomass Briquettes” business, has received the CSR-DIW Continuous Award 2022 and the certificate of recognition from the Ministry of Industry. This achievement demonstrates their commitment to maintaining business standards with a focus on sustainability, community care, and environmental preservation. ABM also promotes employee participation in community care and fostering a happy community as members of the society, as well as adhering to the continuous social responsibility standards for industrial entrepreneurs. Ms. Thidarat Mekhongsong, the Managing Director of Asia Biomass Company Limited (ABM), expressed her dedication to expanding the sales of “Wood Pellets” and aiming for a 30% sales growth, generating annual revenue of 6,500 million baht, a 46% increase. ABM received the CSR-DIW Continuous Award 2022 under the Sustainable Development Goals for Social and Community Responsibility in the Industrial Sector (CSR-DIW) in 2022. The award was presented by Mr. Wanchai Phanomychai, the Director-General of the Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry. This marks the company’s consecutive two-year recognition, reflecting its commitment to international management standards and emphasizing social and community responsibility.
“ABM is delighted to receive the CSR-DIW standard award from the Department of Industrial Works, which aligns with the company’s economic activities focusing on sustainability and addressing environmental issues for the industrial sector in Thailand and Asia. We support the use of biofuel, which is renewable energy derived from agricultural waste, industrial waste, and agricultural products such as palm leaves, wood chips, sawdust, and biomass briquettes. Throughout our 70 years of business operations, we have promoted benefits for all stakeholders by reducing the industrial sector’s impact on communities and society, while contributing to increased income for farmers by utilizing agricultural waste in line with the government’s policies to drive the industrial sector with technology, creativity, and innovation,” said Ms. Thidarat.
However, in the second quarter of 2022, ABM’s profit from its major business reached 8.36 million baht, showing a 166% increase compared to the same period of the previous year and a 23.8% increase compared to the previous quarter. The increased profit is a result of the higher demand for biofuel, leading to a price increase for the company’s products during the past period.
For the second half of 2022, ABM plans to increase sales volume in all product categories, including palm leaves, wood chips, and biomass briquettes. The target revenue for the year is set at 2,500 million baht, representing a 30% growth compared to the previous year. The company focuses on investing in improving the efficiency of its biomass briquette factories and entering contracts for wood chipping services to increase its production capacity significantly. ABM plans to raise capital, expecting an inflow of 380 million baht during the period from 2022 to 2024 to support the growing demand in the renewable energy business. This will reduce the company’s debt-to-equity ratio from approximately 2.3 to 1.15. Nevertheless, ABM remains committed to pursuing rapid and sustainable growth, targeting a revenue of 6,000 million baht in 2023, representing an increase of over 46% according to the annual growth rate or CAGR.
🌍 ABM is proud to contribute as part of the green energy utilization efforts for our livable world. 😊
